Our journey began with love
“A Taste of Lovely Bay” was born from love. Love for my home, my family, and the memories created around food in Lovely Bay, Acklins.
Growing up, food was never just food to us. It was how we celebrated, how we brought family together, how we welcomed people into our homes, and how we kept our traditions alive. Some of my earliest and most meaningful memories are connected to the kitchen, watching family members prepare meals and learning that every dish has a story behind it.
When I moved away from Acklins, I realized just how much those flavours meant to me. I wanted to create something that would allow people from Acklins, Bahamians around the world, and even people who have never visited our islands to experience a little piece of home.
More than just Bahamian food
What makes our cookbook and cooking experiences unique? It’s personal. It’s heartfelt. It’s island-inspired. And it carries the spirit of where I come from.
It’s not just about serving Bahamian food; it’s about giving people a taste of home, wherever they are in the world. We focus on preserving and celebrating the authentic flavours and rich traditions of Acklins, Bahamas, introducing the world to genuine Bahamian cuisine while honouring the people, culture, and stories that inspired each recipe.
